Another great weekend at MIR.
We look forward to a great 2010 season.
On Sept. 27, 2009 The Stinger racing team does it again. Calvin Butler behind the wheel of Grayson Murphy’s 63 split window corvette takes it to the winners circle again at MIR. It started out looking like the race wouldn’t get off until Monday or later. The rain washed everything out on Saturday but the sun came out on Sunday and boy did it shine on stinger racing. Murphy and Tommy fought the weather and the weather station all weekend but the blind monkey won the battle and Calvin made a 9.90 pass on a 9.90 to take the win. It was Calvin’s first national win and puts him in the world finals at the Rock.
Dan was getting it going. Though the same weather issues as changing altitude along with all the rain delays made it tough to dial his corvette in. Winning the first round with a great job of driving on the big end along with a great light the rain shut things down until Sunday. With the big increase in altitude and a green track to make things difficult picking a number was tough and he lost in the second round. We all stayed to help cheer on Calvin to victory.
We are looking forward to Dan and Tommy trying to race their way in to the finals in Rockingham so we can cheer all three along and bring a world championship to Stinger Racing.

Calvin Buttler Wins Super Rod
|
|
April 17 through 19 turned out to be a great weekend of racing at the IHRA SUMMIT Pro Am Tour at MIR. Fridays testing went good with Calvin Buttler testing both cars for Stinger Racing and the Lone Ranger doing the numbers. Saturday was not a disappointment even though neither car made it past first round. Sunday on the other hand was definitely a different day with Dan Osborne going down the track for the second time in his new ride, Dickey Allen going several rounds in Super Rod, Don Rudd making it to the semi finals in Top Sportsman and the big news was Calvin Buttler taking the WIN in Super Rod in Grayson Murphy's Vett with the Lone Ranger as Master Crew Chief.
